The Maritime & Ports Working Group Meeting took place in presence on 15/16 November in Sète, kindly sponsored by Port of Sète and ECG Member Neptune Lines.
On 15 November evening Olivier Carmes, Managing Director of Port of Sète welcomed the participants and kindly presented ECG with some gifts. Participants then enjoyed a networking dinner.
The meeting took place on 16 November in the morning. The Chairman of the Working Group, Oliver Fuhljahn, welcomed everyone. The meeting was very productive and participants engaged in an interactive discussion on the many topics that were presented. These include Cold Ironing, the Carbon Intensity Indicator, emissions reduction and the semiconductor shortage which continues to be the most important challenge the industry is facing.
The usual update on ECG’s activities was given by Mike Sturgeon. The two main strategic objectives for ECG are currently standardising emissions reporting and digital vehicle handover processes. The update also concerned other very active Working Groups, the ECG Conference and future events, EU funding and the various education opportunities offered by ECG.
The meeting was followed by a tour of Port of Sète and its facilities.
The next meeting will be organised in March 2022. The date and venue will be communicated in due course. For more information about future meetings please contact us.
