As of 1 January 2021 France required Heavy Goods Vehicles over 3.5 tons travelling on French roads to be equipped with blind spot stickers. After discussions with the French government, the European Commission informed that the ‘’grace period’’ designed to allow operators to comply with this new rule will end on 31 March 2021 and will not be prolonged. As a consequence, from 1 April 2021 Heavy Goods Vehicles that are not fitted with the stickers will incur sanctions.
ECG reminds everyone that the stickers must be visible on both sides and the back of the vehicle and must be placed between 0.90 m and 1.50 m above the ground.
