European Union (2 October 2020)

The European Commission has confirmed that from 2 February 2022 the new obligation to record manually border crossings, set out in Article 34(7) of the Tachograph Regulation, will also apply to drivers of vehicles equipped with an analogue tachograph. Drivers of vehicles equipped with an analogue tachograph do not need to manually record border crossings until 2 February 2022.

This only applies to the obligation to record border crossings. The European Commission also confirmed that, as of 20 August 2020, drivers of vehicles fitted with analogue tachographs are required to record the symbol of the countries in which the daily working period started and finished.
