The European Commission has committed to a bold environmental goal: Create the world’s first climate-neutral continent, with zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050.
The European Green Deal provides a path to this goal, aiming for a clean, circular economy that decouples economic growth from resource use - and ensures that no person or place is left behind.
But will the COVID-19 pandemic push that goal to the background, as Europe grapples with fundamental questions about public health and seeks to avoid a recession that could last for years?
Three top-level executives will take part in a panel discussion, "The EU Green Deal in the COVID-19 New Normal," with Automotive News Europe on Thursday 9 July. They are Clara de la Torre, deputy director general, European Commission, Emilio Herrera, COO, Kia Europe, and William Todts, executive director, Transport & Environment.
